About

Born in the UK, Dr Simon Tucker studied Medicine at Birmingham University and has been a Consultant Dermatologist for over 20 years, working first in England before emigrating to Australia in 2009.  He has worked in leading practices in both Sydney and Perth and is happily based in Cairns.

Dr Tucker has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on topics including skin cancer, psoriasis, acne, and allergic contact dermatitis among others. An Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer with James Cook University, he is regularly involved in GP education and has been a reviewer for the British Journal of Dermatology, and an assessor for the Australasian College of Dermatologists Registrar Training Program.

Living in the tropics, Dr Tucker is particularly experienced in the detection and management of skin cancer and is also a qualified Mohs skin cancer surgeon and a member of the Australian Mohs Committee. He has a gentle manner and has a genuine desire to improve patients’ skin problems.

Away from work Dr Simon Tucker runs for pleasure whenever possible and has completed three marathons.
