Yes; if you have a valid referral letter from your GP, a rebate is applicable to both consultations and minor procedures performed at the clinic. Medicare rebates also apply to Mohs surgery performed in the Day Surgery.
No, but you will be eligible for a Medicare rebate if you have one, so it will be cheaper for you.
For a proper full skin examination, you will be asked to undress to your underwear (or wear swimwear if you prefer). Loose fitting clothing that is easy to remove and put back on is ideal. A nurse chaperone is available if needed.
A support person is welcome, and this is often helpful for the elderly/frail, those with hearing difficulties, anxious patients and those who do not have English as a first language. Small children can be distracting and should be left with a carer, unless they are the patient.
No. This is a private practice and full payment is required on the day of your appointment.
Concessions are available to DVA, white card and ADF patients.
Private health insurance does not cover the cost of seeing a specialist in Australia. Some larger skin cancer operations, including Mohs facial procedures, when performed in the Day Surgery, are generally covered by Private Health Insurance Hospital Cover.
There are usually no charges for simple repeat scripts if your referral letter is still valid. Some exceptions apply.
