Skin Cancer

Click on a treatment below to learn more about it and how Dr Simon Tucker at Cairns Dermatology can help.

Types of Skin Cancer

Dr Tucker is an expert in detecting skin cancer. He will always try to manage the lesion in the least invasive way possible (including non-surgically) and will discuss all options with you before deciding which treatment will be best.

Mohs Skin Surgery

Mohs surgery is a highly specialised technique which is the gold standard for removal of trickier skin cancers (BCCs & SCCs) on the face. Dr Tucker is uniquely qualified to provide this procedure.

Skin Checks

Most Australians should think about having their skin checked regularly. The fairer your skin type the more important this is and the more often you may need one.

Non-Surgical Approaches to Cancer

Not all skin cancers need surgery. Where possible, Dr Tucker favours the least invasive approach to managing skin cancer and sunspots. Some cancers can be managed through medication and certain creams.

Removing Skin Cancer

The prospect of having a skin cancer removed can be daunting, but at Cairns Dermatology you can feel confident that you’re in good hands and the whole process will be as comfortable for you as possible.
